Dan Halloran

Director, Organizational Learning & Operations

While in college, Dan interned with us and, upon graduation, was welcomed as a full-time team member. Currently, as Director of Organizational Learning & Operations, Dan manages our grantmaking processes, capacity building initiatives, and our approach to learning with and from our community partners to promote continuous improvement both internally and within the local nonprofit sector. He collaborates with executive leadership on financial budgeting and foundation strategy.

Dan graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in international economics and Spanish. He studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and interned one summer in Cuenca, Ecuador at a nonprofit English language school. Throughout college, Dan worked in the Office of International Education and as a resident assistant. In 2021, Dan earned his Masters in Public Administration and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the VCU Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. He is very proud of graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

Within the Richmond community, Dan serves as an election officer. In 2021, he founded the ouRVA Collective giving circle, which seeks to inspire a spirit of giving among the next generation of RVA philanthropists. With its low-threshold membership dues, ouRVA Collective diversifies our local philanthropic sector by engaging folks who are not typically at the table. Since its inception, the group has granted over $40,000 to local nonprofits!

As a self-described “YouTube handyman,” Dan enjoys completing furniture restoration and house projects in his free time.
